When Sandy Dengler wangled a job as part-time assistant to
paleontologists, she fulfilled a lifelong dream. She has turned that
recondite sideline into a new field of writing interest. She grew up in
Ohio, earned degrees in Ohio and Arizona, and resides in Oklahoma near one
of her two daughters (the other lives in the mists of Washington state).
Her husband, now retired, worked for thirty-three years in the National
Park Service with tours of duty in the areas of the Grand Canyon, Saguaro,
Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Acadia, Yosemite, and Mount Rainier.
